Choose one publisher
Use one maintained plugin that explicitly supports IndexNow. Disable duplicate IndexNow features in other SEO or caching plugins.
Setup steps
- Enable IndexNow
- Turn on the integration and let the plugin generate or accept a key.
- Verify the key file
- Confirm the public file is served by WordPress or the web root without authentication.
- Test one update
- Publish or update one page, then inspect the plugin log and endpoint response.
Operational checks
After domain changes, CDN migrations, or security-plugin updates, recheck the key file before debugging submissions.
